Be very careful how you answer this question. Stop and
think.
We have all read mystery novels. Have you ever read the
last one third of a novel or seen the last 45 minutes of
a movie and then decided you KNOW the book or the movie?
I think we have all made decisions by getting partial
information and then later, realizing we did not have
the whole picture. We had formed our opinion on just one
part of the whole picture.
Many times in our lives we make decisions based on part
of the information or truth. Later when we learn there
is more to the facts, we change our thoughts.
If you watched the continuous news coverage of the
Hurricane Katrina in the
USA, or if
you watch any live news event, you hear the newscasters
changing their own opinions and judgments. This was very
prevalent during Katrina. All the newscasters were
asking, "Where is the federal government? Why are they
letting these people suffer?"
Later as things began to become clear, the whole story
came out. The local government waited too long to ask
for help, the local governments allowed buses to be
parked and flooded that could have been used to
transport people away from the area. This is just an
example of thinking that you "know" the truth.
The truth is there but the facts need to be seen in
their entirety.
Many people are preached to every week in congregations
all over the world that the "law" is done away with. You
are not under the law any more. Many congregations do
not even study the "old Testament" because they believe
the lie that it was done away with. It is only used in
an out of context manner to "prove" someone's "out of
context" teaching from the "New Testament"
There is no "new testament" there is ONE book, the
Bible, God's WORD, from beginning to end.
Remember, the law can not save you, it can only point to
salvation but it is still relevant today and everyday.
With out the law we are "lawless"
Malachi 3:6 For I am the
LORD, I change not..
2 Kings 17:37 And the
statutes, and the ordinances, and the law, and the
commandment, which he wrote for you, ye shall observe
to do for evermore; and ye shall not fear other
gods.
Proverbs 7:2 Keep
my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple
of thine eye.
Matthew 5:17 Think not that
I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not
come to destroy, but to fulfil.
Proverbs 28:9 He that
turneth away his ear from
hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.
We must remember that Yeshua, being Jewish (of the tribe
of
Judah)
walked in the Words of His Father all the days of His
life. He walked, talked, ate, slept and breathed the law
with everything He did. He would not teach us to do
anything different.
Every Word He spoke came from the Father and those where
the Words He learned as He went to worship and learn in
congregation each and every Shabbat.
Each and every 7th day of the week.
Luke 16:17 And it is easier
for heaven and earth to pass, than one
tittle of the law to fail.
Just by studying the last part of the Bible you can not
possibly understand the whole Word of God. Remember,
there was no written Gospel till much later. When Yeshua
preached, He spoke to men and women who had been
studying God's Word their whole lives. He did not have
to start from the beginning to teach. So much of what He
said at that point was for those who knew already the
WORD. We have to start as beginners and go back and
learn what every man, woman and child knew in the days
He preached.
We have to accept that God does not change and every
Word He gave us is for us. We do not have the right to
pick and chose which Words we want to follow. The road
is narrower and rockier, the door is much smaller than
we think and when we get to the door,
our key must be able to
unlock the door.
We do not want to arrive at the end of our journey and
find out the door will not open, for then it is too
late.
Listen: Acts 13:47 For so
hath the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set thee to
be a light of the Gentiles, that thou
shouldest be for salvation
unto the ends of the earth.
Acts 13:48 And when the
Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified
the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained
to eternal life believed.
Romans 2:13 For not the
hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers
of the law shall be justified.
Romans 3:29-31 Is he the God
of the Jews only? is he not
also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also: Seeing
it is one God, which shall justify the circumcision by
faith, and uncircumcision
through faith. Do we then make void the law through
faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.
Deuteronomy 4:2 Ye shall
not add unto the word which I command you, neither
shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep
the commandments of the LORD your God which I command
you.
Deuteronomy 12:32 What thing
soever I command you,
observe to do it: thou shalt
not add thereto, nor diminish from it.
Proverbs 30:6 Add
thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou
be found a liar.
Are we learning things that are added to His Word or are
learning to diminish God's Word? This is forbidden by
God. Yeshua, His Son did not do that and we may not
either. It time for you to do some MAJOR
re-thinking. Is it time for you to walk HIS road and not
the wide, comfortable road we are offered everyday that
leads us away from Him and our place in Eternity?
Matthew 7:14 Because strait
is the gate, and narrow is the way, which
leadeth unto life, and
few there be that find it.
Understand, without the sacrifice of Yeshua we could not
be close to God because no matter how hard we try, we
can not gain salvation through works or following the
Word, the Law, because we are not that strong enough in
ourselves. The Lord, our Father, gave us the sacrificial
system to cleanse ourselves and He gave us in His love
and mercy the greatest sacrifice of all, His Son, our
Savior because by reaching out to Him we can be cleansed
through HIS blood as the last sacrificial lamb every
needed.
If you are following only the "New Testament" you are
not receiving the total understanding you need. It is
like trying to water a garden with a watering can. You
may get some water here and there and you may get
something to grow but it will never grow the same as if
you gave the garden it's full
amount of water from the well.
Open up and allow the root of the olive tree to send you
your full portion of living waters for only with the
full portion can you have full understanding and blossom
to walk properly with Yeshua and draw close to our
Father and for Yeshua to say to you Matthew 25:21 ...,
Well done, thou good and faithful servant ..
Do as instructed
Acts 15:20 But that we write
unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of
idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled,
and from blood.
And just as important but never quoted by "new
Testament" believers
Acts 15:21 For
Moses of old time hath in every city them that preach
him, being read in the synagogues every
sabbath day.
