Shalom Dear Brothers and Sisters Love Your Enemies Yeshua always reaffirms His Word from the New covenant to the original covenant. Here in Matthew 5:44 Yeshua says, "But I say to you love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you. 45 so that you may be called children of God". This is exactly what He wrote through Solomon in Proverbs 25:21, "if your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat. If he is thirsty, give him water to drink; 22, so in this way you will heap coals of fire on his head, and the Lord will reward you openly." What both scriptures are reminding us of is the fact that people are not our enemy. While the enemy may be using them, if we show them love in return we may win them back. The Holy Spirit will send His fire to convict their spirits and as we intercede on their behalf they too will come to repentance and into the wonderful saving grace of our Lord and Savior Yeshua Hamashiach! Sometimes it is so difficult when someone really does something that pierces our heart to the very core. But we must remember always we do not fight against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers in high places (Ephesians 6:12). Also remember Yeshua came not only to teach us how to live He also came for the redemption of the whole world, (John 4:16). The other thing I noticed about these two scriptures was in this to be done in secret. We pray for them in secret we give them food and drink quietly. Then we are called Children of God and He will reward us openly! Yes we are saved by the blood of Yeshua but it is by our works that we are known to be His children. The world will not know Him if we are not set apart and doing as He has taught us to do. It goes to "working out our salvation with fear and trembling" (Philippians 2:12). Even Yeshua our ultimate example cried out as He was drawing His last breaths asking the Father not to hold this sin against those responsible. How could He do this, because He knew it had to be so for our sakes. For us who were once Gentiles far off and away without God could be redeemed and adopted in as fellow Israelites. It's easy to say He was God so He was able to forgive. Remember though He also said when he taught us to pray, "forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us" (Matthew 6:9-13). So let us forgive quickly always and show love to prove to the lost and lonely world that they to can become partakers and true children of the living God!
