Shalom Dear Brothers and Sisters Gideon and the Weak Things In Judges chapter 6 once again the Israelites were being oppressed because they had fallen away from the Lord. This time the Lord was using the Midianites to cause them to cry out to Him. Every time God's children cry out and repent realizing we have somehow gotten off-track the Lord has always been faithful to come to our rescue. In this case he chose Gideon. I find it interesting that our God who is so great and mighty, strong and powerful always chooses the least and the weakest people to do His work. In verse 11 we see Gideon threshing the wheat on the floor in the wine press to hide it from the Midianites. Instead of doing this out in the open where the wind can blow away the chaff and make it easier he is down there in the wine press hiding. Then along comes The Angel of the Lord, and says to Gideon, "the Lord is with you, you mighty man of valor"! Now if I had been Gideon I would have been looking around to see who he was talking to and in a sense that is what Gideon implies. For he says, "Oh My Lord, If the Lord Is with Us Why Has All of This Happened to Us"? Notice he doesn't say me he says us. Sometimes it takes us time to clue in to the fact that God is actually wanting to use each one of us individually. It doesn't matter where we are at or whether we feel able or not. The fact is we are not able or strong enough to do anything on our own strength but we can do all things through Messiah Yeshua who strengthens us (Philippians 4:13). Sometimes we think we don't do very much for the Lord but he uses the simple things to accomplish great things in our lives and in the lives of others. In our churches and congregations we see people with gifts from the Holy Spirit. They can pray like no other, or they may operate with words of wisdom for example. Then we go back to our homes and we think who am I and what can I do for God. Remember all you have to do is ask and be available. The people who operate within the church publicly using their gifts are there to edify the body of Messiah. Sometimes a simple smile in a grocery store or a helping hand to a mom who's carrying bags and babies is far more important to Lord. The prayers you offer up in the secret place of your home are the ones He delights in! We do not see all the things that go on in the background, in the spirit realm and it's a good thing. But know this precious ones The Holy One of Israel will use you especially if you are one of the weak and humble ones of His flock. Just wake up in the morning and asked Him, how can I bless You this day my Father In Heaven! He will show you an open door no man can shut!
