Shalom Dear Brothers and Sisters Protection In Luke chapter 10 when Yeshua spoke against the three cities, he was speaking to the people in those cities. He goes on to explain it is because they rejected Him and they would not hear or receive the good news. In verse 18 Yeshua declares that He saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. Then he goes on to explain in verse 19 that He has given us the authority to trample on scorpions and snakes and they shall by no means harm us. Basically what I believe he was telling us that we need not fear the enemy. Though he may try to come against us he has no power over us. However, this does not mean that we are to go looking for him or any other principalities and powers. Trust me and I'm speaking from experience here, if we are about our Fathers business, being obedient to the Word of God and being led by the Holy Spirit in the all things and situations we will be producing good fruit in our lives. By doing this we will also get the enemy's attention. That is why in Chapter 11 Yeshua gives us the Lord's prayer He tells us how to pray, towards the end He says, "lead us not into temptation but deliver us from the evil one". Trust me the evil one does have power but look to the Lord in all things because He has more power! That is why it is so important for us to keep our eyes and ears open and in tune with the Holy Spirit! When Satan tempted Yeshua, when the Holy Spirit sent him into the wilderness (Luke 4) He did not rebuke him or send him away. Rather He stood His ground and quoted back Scripture so that Satan became weary and left Him alone and angels came and ministered to Him. I often wondered why this was necessary there are probably a million reasons why. This one thing I do know what I see here is the necessity of the knowledge of Scripture. The necessity of being able to stand filled with the power of the Holy Spirit not on our own strength. I also see that after standing strong the enemy left Him alone seeing that he would not win the fight. I see the Father sending provision for strength and comfort. Then I see Yeshua fully empowered after 40 days of being away in the wilderness learning exactly how to deal with our adversary! He didn't scream and fight call down fire from heaven to consume the adversary etc. He simply quoted back Scripture and kept His focus on God. We need to model our Good Shepherd! We need to make sure we are not like the people in the three cities who refuse to hear the things that Yeshua was teaching us. B'Shem Yeshua Hamashiach, Amen In His Love, Theresa
