Shalom Dear Brothers and Sisters Corban This last time in the hospital, Myles also was very sick, so he was unable to come up to see me on Friday night. My precious friend came to stay with me that evening and since it was Erev Shabbat after she had fed me supper, we spent the evening reading through the Scriptures. She had brought her Bible with her and in it were a few Hebrew word,s one really stuck out to me it was Corban, in this Bible it gives the definition as "a gift devoted to God". I asked her to make notes on this for me, it spoke so many things to me at the time and I could not express them all. All through Scripture God asks us to be separate, set apart for Him this was why He gave us His Torah. This is why Joshua had to once again circumcised the children of Israel. Even though they had the Ark of the covenant, this was to be a physical reminder that they were to be separate and set apart for the Lord God. This is why God had to send His Son Yeshua, the walking living Torah to teach us and to open the doors so that all the world may enter in to the kingdom of light! We are to be sanctified, set apart, a gift devoted to God so that He may work through us. According to 1 Corinthians 6:11, "and such were some of you; but you are washed, you are sanctified, you are justified through Yeshua Messiah, and by the Spirit of our God". This means we are complete in Messiah! 2 Corinthians 6:17 says, "come out from among them and be ye separate". 2 Corinthians 7:1 continues saying, "having these promises dear brethren let us cleanse ourselves of all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God". In 2nd Timothy 2:19-21 Paul makes it even clearer, "nevertheless the foundation of God stands clear, having the seal, the Lord knows those who are His, but let every one who claims the name of Messiah depart from iniquity. If a man purge himself of these, he shall be a vessel useful unto honor, sanctified for the Masters use, and prepared for every good work". How do we get to be this way? By spending time with the Master! There is nothing we can do to earn our salvation or His love or any right standing, Yeshua did that all for us, this is where our redemption sanctification and justification comes from. All the Lord asks in return is that we love Him with all of our hearts mind and strength and love our neighbors as ourselves! By this we show our love and appreciation for what Yeshua did for us! Putting away all of the sinfulness that we so easily walk into. The best way I know is to get to know Him is by sitting at His feet allowing Him to show me how to walk the way He wants me to walk and live. Showing love and patience always. How else was Paul able in 1 Corinthians 1:2 to call them Saints? He did not judge them for where they were at, he wrote a letter in love in the hopes to put them on the right path. This is what Yeshua did with us and continues to do so, we have to allow Him to do it. By developing that one-on-one deep, intimate relationship so that He will know us and we will know Him and out of that relationship will flow living waters.
