Wisdom

Recently my mom, who I don't get to see very often, came over for a visit my aunt came with her.  My aunt is a Catholic and also my godmother, so needless to say we get into some theological discussions.  I feel they are senseless, useless and a waste of my time.  However, my aunt is only concerned for my spiritual well-being, this I must respect.  Once again she came over with a basket filled with things I could use for "Christmas".  Once again I explained to her I don't celebrate Christmas.

We pray to the Father now since we have access because of the Son Yeshua Hamashiach who has also given us the Holy Spirit.  We understand all three work together in unity and are one.  Nowhere in the Scriptures does it speak of a mother!  Yeshua gave us clear instructions to pray to the Father.  He also gave us the Holy Spirit after His resurrection from the dead and His Ascension back to the Father in Heaven.  So I'd been pondering once again why it is in the natural mothers are so important to us.  I think I found her!  Wisdom!

All through Proverbs especially Proverbs 1:20-21 says, "wisdom calls aloud outside, She cries out... She speaks her words".  Verse 23 says,; surely I will pour out my Spirit on you I will make my words known to you".  At the very start of Proverbs Solomon tells us in verse 8 "hear the instruction of your father and do not forsake the law of your mother".  Is this not speaking of God's Torah for us.  All through Proverbs wisdom is referred to as She.

Also the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom!  Proverbs tells us to seek after her as more precious than silver or gold.  I think wisdom is the very heart of God the Father.  The more we look to the Word of God the more the Father reveals Himself to us.  The more He reveals Himself to us the more we fall in love with Him.  Out of this great love relationship we develop wisdom for our daily lives.  The more time we spend with our Father seeking His approval in our lives the less we need to look to men or mothers.  The less we look to men the more we look to God.  The less important our natural mothers become to us because we find our fulfillment and acceptance where it should be, from our Father in Heaven.

This does not mean we should neglect them in any way, rather we need to continue to honor them for all they have done for us.  Obviously Solomon's mother spent much time teaching him the Torah of God.  It is clear that both parents played a role in teaching Solomon the importance of staying true to God and to His Word.  What we need to recognize is He has already accepted us just the way we are because of the work done on the cross by His Beloved Son Yeshua Hamashiach.  There is nothing we can add to it and nothing can be taken away from it.  All we need to do now is take this faith and His Word and apply it to our lives so that we can bear fruit for Him.  One day at a time!

Just take some special time every day read His precious Holy Word, tell Him how much you love Him, thank Him for all He has done for you!  Then wait and listen for that still small voice.  You will hear it, in your heart or He will show you something from His Word, be patient.  He is faithful and He will speak to you, then go forth and be obedient to what he tells you to do!

B'Shem Yeshua Hamashiach, Amen
