Shalom Dear Brothers and Sisters Be Ready Recently I had an experience I want to share with you all. The reason I'm going to share is though we live in a very physical world we also live in a very spiritual world. Paul told us in Ephesians 6 to always be prepared, putting on the whole armor of God. When we are not ready, we are fair game for the enemy. Every day I try to make sure the first thing I do is spend some time with the Father and in the precious Word of God. Unfortunately I am one of those children who many times learns things the hard way. The reason there was no newsletter last week was because I became very ill, I was sick for a solid five days. In fact I was so sick with migraine headaches in the back of my head I felt as I did 22 years ago and spoke with Myles as I was afraid I was on my way home to be with the Lord. I reached out for prayer and Lord was faithful to heal me! I was reminded of the Scripture in 1 Peter 5:8-9, "be sober, be vigilant, for your adversary the devil walks around roaring like a lion, seeking whom he may devour". Well it turned out I walked right into a sneak attack by the enemy! I knew we were getting together with some family members who are strongly opposed to God. This one particular fellow does everything in his power to disrupt, disturb and attack my faith verbally every time we get together. Now I recognize it is not him but rather the enemy using him to do so. As Paul so reminds us we do not fight against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers in high places, Ephesians 6:12. Every human being is made in the image of God and no matter what they do to us we must show them love. That's not to say that we have to stay in the Fellowship with them. Amos 3:3 says, "can two walk together, except they agree? Now I love this young man with all my heart, sadly he is deceived and bent on destruction right now. The mistake I made was not being ready and well prayed up before our gathering took place. I had not spent enough time in the secret place with my Heavenly Father prior to this encounter. If I had, I would not have been anxious, I would not have been defensive, I would have simply been able to stand my ground in love. Instead I sat there quietly fighting back tears seeing everything in the natural and feeling defeated. This is not how a soldier of the Lord or a warrior behaves. I was unable to fight off the fiery darts of the enemy and I ended up physically ill for five days. I know the Scripture all too well, "no weapon formed against me shall prosper", Isaiah 54:17. Next time we have to have a family gathering I will be prayed up and ready to stand my ground with my armor on! I will have spent much more time in prayer with my Heavenly Father B'Shem Yeshua Hamashiach, Amen In His Love, Theresa
