Shalom Dear Brothers and Sisters The Broom Tree Recently every time I go to sleep, in my dreams I am walking all over the place, just enjoying all kinds of things. Then I wake up to the reality that I can't move or get up out of bed. So I started thinking about heaven and how I know I'm going to walk there, so I prayed how much longer Lord do I have to stay on this earth! I've had enough I want to come home to be with you! So the Lord sent me to 1st Kings 19. Here is Elijah on the run from Jezebel after calling down fire from heaven and consuming burnt offerings, sitting under a Broom tree. In verse 4 "And he prayed that he might die, and said, “It is enough! Now, LORD, take my life, for I am no better than my fathers!” It just amazes me how the Lord ministers life to us! In Elijah's case an Angel woke him up gave him food to eat and drink twice and Elijah ran to Mount Horab the mountain of God. God is so gracious with us He understands our weaknesses yet still He chooses to use us as His servants. God knew of Elijah was coming but he goes and crawls into a cave still feeling all sullen and the Lord asks him, what are you doing here? Meanwhile, God Himself sent an angel and provided food and drink to strengthen the Elijah for the 40 day journey to the mountain of God. There he pours out his soul before the Lord. God in His graciousness tells Elijah to come out on the cliff so that he can speak with him. Then there was a mighty wind, then the mighty earthquake, then a mighty fire, but God was not in any of these instead he came with a soft tender voice. Encourages Elijah that he is not alone and to go back and give some instructions of what to do for it Him. Again he provides provision of food and water for the 40 day trek back. Isn't that the truth signs of our Fathers Heart! With tenderness he comforts him provides for him and sends him on his way. I know for myself as I read this story I felt strengthened to continue on as well. So when you feel like giving up or that you're all alone remember of Elijah under the Broom tree. Even he felt discouraged at times. But what a great Abba we have!
