Shalom Dear Brothers and Sisters Breaking Bread As we have been anticipating the outpouring of the latter rain entering the last days as promised to us in (Joel 2:23). We need to begin sharpening our spiritual senses! Our Messiah is coming back soon but before He comes, He has promised us a few things, the latter rain for example. Also trials and tribulations. While we need to show Abba's love to everyone we must also be careful to seek His will for us each day. He will show us what to do either through His Word or through that small still voice as we sit quietly at His Feet. Lately He's been showing me the importance of whom I break bread with. It's been in messages I've been listening to and scriptures He has been leading me to. Partly because I have to have people care for me. There are a few examples where God's people were deceived into breaking bread and eating with someone they should not have. One example is in 1st Kings 13. God sent His prophet to pronounce judgment against an altar that was used to make offerings to a god, the altar was destroyed and God protected His prophet from the King when he tried to grab the prophet to kill him. God warned this prophet not to go back the same way and not to eat bread or a drink anything in that land. Unfortunately for that prophet he was tricked by an old prophet who lived in the area and it cost him his life. The same thing happened to Joshua with the Gibeonites (Joshua 9:1-13). Now this did not cause Joshua to lose his life but it did cause a source of frustration as they made a covenant with people whom God did not want them making any covenants with. Unfortunately they became a thorn in their sides and they had to give them land and could not wipe them out. One thing I know, breaking bread with someone is a covenant! How can I be so sure of this? Yeshua Himself made a covenant with us when He broke the bread with His disciples. So let us keep our spiritual senses tuned in and watch who we break bread with!
B'Shem Yeshua Hamashiach, Amen In His Love, Theresa
