Shalom Dear Brothers and Sisters Fast to Feed I know I've written about fasting before and the importance of it. The other night as I was listening to my Scriptures on CD I came across Isaiah 58. I listened and read this many times over, only this time I really Heard It! Then I actually went and read it and this time I SAW It. Isaiah 58:1-9 makes things very clear concerning our fasting. I know I have fasted for many reasons especially when it comes to needing guidance before I make a move so I don't go astray. The Lord has always been faithful in showing us what the right move is and we have found favor with Him and with man during these times. I have fasted and interceded for others and for myself as well. But this one really opened my eyes. In verse seven it says "is it not to share your bread to the hungry... when you see the naked that you cover them". 8, "then your light shall break forth like the morning, your healing shall spring forth speedily, your righteousness shall go out before you; the Glory of the Lord shall be your rearguard". When ever I have fasted I didn't realize that by not purchasing food I was actually saving money. A little slow but I am getting there as the Lord points these things out to me! This money that I save is not for my personal use in the future for things I may or may not need. Rather this money from this day forward shall be given to a mission here in the city that I know is feeding the hungry giving clothes to the poor even providing them shelter as many are homeless. As I mentioned earlier this week and at other times in the cold winter I worry about our homeless it is brutal here and many times we find people who have frozen in the spring. May God forgive us and have mercy for our neglect. This is one way the Lord says that our lights will shine for Him. In fact He says it will break forth like the morning! Have you ever watched a beautiful morning breaking forth from the dark night especially if you've been out in the country? It is a truly marvelous and beautiful thing that only our God could create! Not only that the Lord says His glory shall be our rearguard! Can you imagine as we walk away after feeding or helping a person in need they will not only see His light breaking forth but His glory as we leave! This is when they will truly know that our God lives and they will want what we have. Not the physical needs that we have rather the spiritual needs. Then their bonds will be broken and their chains released from what ever is holding them back in the kingdom of darkness. Oh Saints let us honor our God not for what we will receive but because we love Him! We have already received all that we can never repay but we can give to Adonai that which He has asked of us. Verse 9 says, "then you shall call, and the Lord will answer; you shall cry and He will say,' Here I Am'"! I think Yeshua was trying to get this through our heads when he told us the story of Lazarus and the rich man! I do not want to be like the rich man not because of where he is but because he is without God for ever and ever. I cannot imagine how terrible it would be to never experience the presence of God but to know that He was there with me for a short period of time on earth as I look to eternity and to be with Him for ever and ever! I would give everything I have if that's what He asked of me. I am so blessed He has given me much and I am overwhelmed by such a great Abba who loves me so much to show me these wonderful truths to keep me on the right track! B'Shem Yeshua Hamashiach, Amen In His Love, Theresa
